All things are known at the end.

wow, what an ending. This series is one of my favorite Fantasy trilogy in recent years. Solid characters, solid plot and very well story telling narrative.

The book starts on when the second book was finished, Van Bam is dead and Clara is now alone with a Genii and demons. Samuel, Hillem, Goldergol and Namji are on their own back in the Sisterhood of Bells. Can these scattered remaining Relic Guild overcome Genii and Spiral and save Labrys Town and Alfier houses?

Like two previous books, the narrative switches between present time and 40 years ago. slowly every secret is revealed and every person’s place in Skaywatcher Lady Amilee’s long schemed plan is known and fulfilled.Lady Amilee has plotted what’s going to happen carefully so at the end everything will be as it should be. She doesn’t hesitate to sacrifice Relic Guild agents for the greater good.

I’ve enjoyed these series so much that I’m sure I’m going to reread them soon.

What a sequel. I absolutely love this series and just don’t understand why it’s been read only by few people. It deserves much more attention.

The Genii have come back and took control of Nightshade. They have lives on million denizen of Labrys Town in their hand now. Relic Guild few live members hardly escaped police attack and found themselves in horror of Retrospective.
Clara has changed into the wolf, Samuel and Vam Bam don’t know if they should watch Clara or monsters coming from Retrospective. And there is a suspicious shadow carriage that can carry them to an unknown Aelfirian houses. Something that hasn’t happened for forty years. They don’t know what is waiting them on Aelf houses, who is friend and who is foe anymore. But one thing is clear, if they don’t do anything Labrys Town would be destroyed and The Genii will gain control all over the world.

Similar to the first book, The Cathedral of Known Things switches between two timelines, 40 years ago when Genii war happened and now. Lots of secrets are known and with them great dangers are coming to light.

This is a brilliant story, characters, events, everything is just very good planted. The ending was unexpected but I can’t say it disappointed me. We knew it was coming. So highly recommended.

It’s a really good debut fantasy book.I enjoyed the story and the way it is told. It shift continuously between now and past when everything was ruined.Edward Cox knows how to engage the reader with the story.

The relationship between current Relic Guild members is processed very good, Old man Sam Picky, young Clara unsure about her powers and a little confused in the new world she has been dragged into and Van Bam the wise, calm Resident of the Labrys town. oh villains… you hate them but at the same time admire them for their intelligence.Best of them angry and crazy Thaumaturgists.

About the author:

Edward Cox began writing stories at school as a way to pass time in boring lessons. It was a hobby he dabbled with until the late 80’s when he discovered the works of David Gemmell, which not only cemented his love of fantasy but also encouraged a hobby to become something much more serious.

Currently living in Essex with his wife and daughter, Edward is mostly surrounded by fine greenery and spiders the size of his hand. The Relic Guild is his first completed novel, and it is the result of more than ten years of obsessive writing.(Source : GoodReads )
